2009 200 with 90K miles. The airbag light comes on the dash at the same time the "passenger airbag off" light comes on. Stays on even with someone in the passenger seat.

Sometimes it is on, sometimes it is off. No rhyme or reason yet. anyone seen this?

Never heard of it, but sounds like the seat sensor is faulty.

If vehicle has ever been hit then the seat may just need to be recalibrated

My 09 w/40k miles does this as well. Only occasionally though, I've been trying to figure out if there is a pattern. Haven't seen one yet.

Turns out it is the seat belt tensioner that is malfunctioning. $500 at the stealership and the lights are off

Weird.

Mine does it too sometimes. good to know about the tensioner.

I had the same problem on a 2013 LX in April. 3 times during a drive home from San Francisco the SRS (airbag) warning light came on and the Airbag Off indicator light came on. The warning light didn’t come on at the dealership but they did see codes for the right front seatbelt tensioner sensor so they replaced the right front seatbelt assembly. It's under warranty so no cost to me.

My 2009 with ~90k miles did this for the first time today. I'll have to see if I can track down the part number for the seat tensioner.

My LC is raising the following DTCs:

B1650 Occupant Classification System Malfunction
B1773 Belt Tension Sensor Power Source

The LC repair manual at LC200 Manual (the only resource I'm aware of) appears to be almost useless for troubleshooting this issue. I did find this repair manual exert from a Tacoma repair manual that troubleshoots this issue for that platform: http://www.customtacos.com/tech.old...06toyrm/06toypdf/06rmsrc/rm2006ta/0470058.pdf

Either way it would appear that the most likely fix is the outer seat belt:

Beige:
7321060671E0 - Belt & retractor w/precrash system, beige Right

Gray:
7321060670B1 - Belt & retractor w/precrash system, gray Right

The part is ~$350USD.

The only issue is I'm not 100% if it's the RH or LH. I believe it's RH as what limited documentation I have references that but I also haven't found anything referencing different codes for LH.
