Air Filter can (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone, just joined MUD but been coming here since I got my 94 In 2018. My question is and please don’t piss yourselves laughing but I’m adding a stock battery tray on the passenger side and box on the side of my air can is in the way. I’m been trying to find what is and if I can get ride of it and just run a 90 degrees hose from the air cleaner can straight to the engine but before I do that would be nice what it is and what will happen.

Not sure what you are referring to, but if it's circled in red below on my truck, that's the cruise control. I did added a second battery tray years ago (15?), IIRC I just moved the windshield washer bottle with a Slee kit.

im trying for the same set up as yours. Not talking about the cruise control. This is a black box looks like something another filter goes in but sealed. Has a hose from the top of my air filter can and at the bottom has a hose coming out into the engine. your air can doesn’t have it, but my 94 does

this is a pic of another cruiser with an engine like mine. I have my washer bottle moved to where yours is but that pesky box is where my tray will sit

Sorry, forgot the 93-94s had the PAIR system. Do a search for that. I think guys/girls just delete them. Random thread I pulled up below...

Thanks for the help. It’s a lot easier finding info on something when someone tells you what it’s called . I’m going to get a hose and run it straight to the pair system bypassing the box. Then I will have room for my battery box. Of course be awhile until I get a battery for it, until then be storage .Thanks again Hobbes you have not only solved a big mystery for me, you have gotten me closer to a two battery system

Sounds great, as far as I got is moved my washer bottle and the whole pairs system and installed the tray. Now I’m tying to figure out where to go now lol
