my first post on this forum...so hello everyone! Anyway the title says it all. Just bought a 1966 fj 40, and would like to bring it back to its former glory...got to start somewhere. Thanks for looking.

Not sure if it was the last year but 64-67 used the same oil bath air cleaner. Earlier used different set of head bolts. So was a little shorter. 68 was paper element standard but the one barrel carburator s could either.
Thank you living in the past!...I'm new to fj s...so I needs lots of schooling

The 65 and 66 are interchangeable. Lobsang, make sure and clean around the bracket mounting studs on the canister. They often cake up with sludge there from hairline cracks in the housing.

I don't hope to match private party prices on an air cleaner housing. But if you have me rebuild your carb and buy the air cleaner from me, I can supply you with the NLA gasket that seals the air cleaner to the carb.
