Hi
I have been looking at suppliers both over here in Australia and in the USA with the intention of purchasing Air Bags to assist the suspension in the rear of my HDJ78R Troop Carrier but have hit a brick wall regarding the States as it appears you do not have my model!
I don't see this being anything special and I suspect you have a similar vehicle but I just don't know what to ask for?

Basically I am after Air Bags for a Leaf spring rear vehicle where the Diff is over the springs..
From what I have seen the Air Bag mounting replaces the factory bump stop.

Any chance someone can point me in the correct direction.

Normally I would just purchase this locally but the price difference is ridiculous! even with freight the price of the actual Air Bags is close to half the price of the local suppliers, I know they have to make a profit but why should I have to pay for this!

You won't find a kit in the US for a hdj78/hzj78 as they were never sold there. What you can do is buy the kit off ebay for about $490 or source bags from the states and make all the brackets to suit. Measure between chassis and diff housing then check the bags extended and compressed lengths to find a suitable candidate. Ps. Most kits are for standard height. If your raised you'll need to make spacers anyway or risk tearing the bag on down travel

I am running firestone 5405 bags on my 80 series in place of the coils, a member of our club was running 5425 bags but recently went to some double convoluted bags from these guys and likes them:

you will need to build some brackets, but should be able to mount them between the frame rail on top of the springs
