Air bag light

I dont post much on the truck forms ( taco never fails ) but I seen the air bag light next to the seat belt light was dim after the the truck off and the key was out, it shuts off when I start the truck. thaks for the help.

I would have the codes pulled by an auto parts store, or shop. Not a good system to let go with a warning light.

My dads airbag light would come one once in a while in his t100. Then it would go off. Don't worry about it too much because when i had my wreck the airbag worked

I disagree with letting it go. That is one thing you do not want going off in your truck while driving. That could cause you do all sorts of things..like kill someone else due to running off the road.

Jumper your diagnostic connection in the engine bay and tell us what the ECU is reading i.e. it will flash the code using the check engine light as the medium....kind of like morse code. It will flash the first numner in termsm of blinks and then pause for .5 seconds (I think) and then flach then second number in the code in terms of blinks. Pretty simple.

thats cool I will do this and report back, I never knew that. is there a list of the codes.

I found the problem my wife put some progressive ins. tracking thing in some port uder the dash, pulled it out , the light when't out, ^%#@^% thing all for 50 bucks. thank for the help.

Glad it was an easy fix. Does this tracking thing have to go in a specific port, or is it something that just needs power? Can you post a pic? I'm just curious.

I think it's on 99 and newer vehicles, if you look up under your dash theres just this little port about 1.5 by .75 with 6 or 7 plugs. I'll work on the pics
