Getting a fresh shunt come Friday up a UAB medical center. Even though it is brain surgery, hopefully it will go smooth and I will only be in the hospital for a few days, staying in NeuroICU for one night.
Reason: 'turrible' headaches everyday since the last one in '08 as well as 'turrible' stomach pains from the cathetor in the abdomen. It feels like a knife being twisted in my stomach. Daily at any given time. Hopefully this new one resolves all that. Neurosurgeon is female and she'll do a few other procedures, like opening up the cavity that the CSF fills, since one looks to be collapsed... we pray for the best! She's good.
