I thought I would add to one of these many ahc threads, mainly because I have read all the threads, even those 43 pages deep to see who if any have had similar issues and have been able to resolve them.
I have a 2013 lx, replaced ahc fluid at 180k km, then globes and pump at 220k km (w new fluid), and now replaced my shocks (accumulators) as the rock guards were rusted and eaten away but otherwise didn’t leak. Yes I know, don’t fix what ain’t broken but I don’t like when things are wearing externally. Although it was tough getting the parts off and replaced with the new parts, it was relatively drama free. I tried to fill the shocks w new ahc fluid (yes metal cans) before tightening it all up but who knows how much I got in there. I had a hard time getting it to raise at first, cycling the car on and off. I have techstream and used to erase the code which was abnormal pump pressure c1763. I eventually got pressure to build by cycling the pump on and off using a direct 12v battery to the power outlet on the pump. I would unplug it in the back and apply 12 volt for a couple seconds then the pump would grab and pull fluid. I would do this over and over to build pressure from about 2 psi to eventually between 8 and 11. What is weird is even after erasing the fault code via tech steam, the pump would restart and run without necessarily building much pressure. the pump would still be on and pumping then all of a sudden stop with the error code c1793. I would unplug the power to the pump, apply 12 volt for a couple seconds and plug it in, erase code and it would build pressure again. I estimate about 4 or 5 of these cycles and the pressure would be high enough the pump would naturally stop when the height was where it should be. I did a number of fluid flushes once at height - I estimate I put through about 5 liters. I only did the four bleed corners, not the 5th accumulator. The car drives poorly even though the code isn’t thrown. Eventually it gets thrown after a few minutes of driving. I can drop the suspension with the switch, but when I try to go back up the back raises briefly and then the pump spins and cuts out w the c1793 code. I have about 35 hours into this whole job and now on the finally stretch I can’t figure out what’s going on. I suspect maybe there is still air trapped, but I did so many bleeds. There is some discrepancy in how the bleeds get down ie one corner at a time and restart, do all four and then restart. Only bleed until air is done coming out, or bleed until in bump stops etc. I tried all variations. Same result. The only thing I haven’t tried is bleeding that 5th. Or any other thoughts from the gurus out there?
