Well,

After not making much progress on my pig in the past few weeks (holidays), I finally got out into the garage yesterday and got my aftermarket 2lb residual valve and proportioning valve installed. I saw several clean ideas here on Mud, but most involved cutting and modification to the main firewall brakeline for the rear circuit. Because (for me) that firewall line was purchased, and is made of stainless steel, I wanted to avoid cuting and having to re-flare that particualr line.

So, my direction was to fabricate a bracket, and three small lines that could be substituted in place for the OEM line that goes from the master cylinder to the OEM proportioning valve. My solution is below.

Now I recognize that there are a lot of opinions on what components are needed/required for the rear disc brake conversion, and this post is not meant to debate that. It is merely a postiong of some ideas to help those of you pondering this conversion. Once I get this all operational, I will be sure and post back my finding on this setup, and let you know if I have made any adjustments, (i.e. removal of components, etc.)

Nice and clean! It looks like you put the adjustable valve between the MC and the stock proportioning valve? I'm going to be doing this in the coming year but I don't understand it all completely, haven't really read up on it yet, why are both valves needed?

Thats Cool Great job One question i was working on something like that for my LV did you have to put an english flare on the lines ? to make them seat in the valves

Thanks. I actually had a good time fabbing that bracket up. However, getting three lines to fit where one used to be took some trial and error.

I am assuming by english flare you mean ISO or bubble flare...? If I am correct in guessing what you meant by english flare, then answer to your question is no. The aftermarket residual valve and the proportioning valve both came with brass fittings that allow for a 3/16" line double flared tube to seat into it. The one subtle detail about those supplied brass fittings is that they require tube nuts at the end of the brake lines that are 3/8-24 threads instead of M10 X 1.0. All the other fittings on the landcruiser take the M10 x 1.0, if I am not mistaken.
