Aftermarket radio harness

Hey Guys,

I'm sure there is a thread somewhere here to answer my question, but after searching and going through tons of posts, I just can't seem to for sure find the answer.

I recently got an 01 LX470, and I want to upgrade the radio. Stock system does NOT have nav, it's just a 6disk in-fdash with tape deck. Does someone make a harness adapter to just plug and play? On my old 98 LC it was so easy to just wire up a new radio.

In here there is discussion about converting your Lexus connector (22 pin?) to a 20 pin Toyota LC connector, and then buying a commonly available adapter.

I think @DanInDenver had some lingering questions when attempting this...

I didn't convert my connector. I cut all the wires then connected those to the corresponding wires on the Panasonic HU connector. I have yet to figure out how to make the dimmer function and have lost illumination to the center console. Other than that everything went well and the system sounds great.
