Anyone in Phoenix know of a local place to get an aftermarket radiator for an 80 series? Or perhaps know of a good radiator shop I could call and ask about aftermarket radiators?

My radiator in the 60 came from Performance Radiator. Ron Davis is the way to go IF you have the money to spend.

I'm interested in stock performance for less-than-stock price. Something under $250 sounds reasonable. I'd really like to get away from the plastic tanks if possible, but I don't want a piece of crap either.
I've heard of Performance, I'll give them a call.

BMAN- Performance has mine in stock for $277, all metal instead of plastic tanks. You happy with the one in your 60?

Don't know yet. I'll be running it with the small block. MikeAz has one in his 60 and he said that it performs well but has developed a small leak. Don't know how long he's been running it either. I have used their products in the past with no problems though so I'm hoping that the one I have will be just fine.

I have installed a few of them, I would rate them as above average aftermarket. Most worked well, a couple have developed solder seam seeps, they are good about warranting them.

BMAN--it's the OEM one that leaked, not the performance copy

I put one in the 60 last fall. The rad functions 100% as well as the stock rad. Any rad. can develop leaks though. My original stock (OEM) rad weeped down an inch every 3 months where the top of the tank meets the core, but for $200 you can't go wrong. I know I could have it resoldered but brand new is nice too. The 60 has relatively complicated mounts with 4 parallel studs on each side plus the typical flange holes on the side. I agree with Kevin that the quality is not at all bad for aftermarket.

You get a great warranty and every rad I heard anyone ask for is always in stock in phoenix.

I ended up with this one from Performance, although it does have plastic tanks. Made by Koyo in (I believeI remember this right ) Indonesia, it looks almost identical to the stock one. One thing I'm not sure I like is that they assembled it and then painted it, tanks, fins and all. Nice shiny black, but I'd have rather had the bare plastic and I'm wondering what a coat of paint does to the heat transfer ability of the core. Can't help it, I wouldn't think. Looks to be a quality product, and fit perfectly.

I had a performance radiator in my old 40 and had no problems with it at all in the 2-3 years I had the 40 after the radiator.

I put one of those Koyo radiators in my 80 a few months ago. I was very impressed with the fit and finish. I have been told that Koyo is a supplying manufacturer for Toyota. I don't know for sure though. The only difference that i could find was where the teq is on a factory radiator, there is just a spot of raised plastic on the Koyo.
