What's the availability for bolt-on accessories for 2006 and earlier? I was researching a Gobi-X rear bumper, and it was listed at 2007+ only. I thought it might be a one-off for that company, but I've flipped through a number of vendors of bolt on stuff as well as suspension components, which all listed compatibility as 2007+. How much is being 2006 or older going to limit tweaking my 76? Are there workarounds?

Hello,

Post-2006 70 Series Cruisers have wider front frame rails. From the windshield back, they have not changed much.

Furthermore, 76 Series were initially intended for the Japanese Domestic Market and their production ended in 2004. Only after 2006 was the model available for other markets, because it replaced the mid wheelbase 74 Series.

Aftermarket parts like bull bars are different for post-2006 trucks.

Compatibility is a concern for parts intended for the front, especially for parts to be fitted to the frame rails.

Again, from the windshield back, compatibility is not much of a concern.

Hope this helps.

As @JuanJ stated, the rear components should be no issues with fitment.

I was able to cobble together a lift for my 76. PM me for a full list of components if you are interested, but I ended up with components from old man emu, dobinson's, terrain tamer and slee off-road.

ARB early 70 series front bullbar bolts right on.

I believe the front frame rails are approximately 3” wider to accommodate the V8.

Hello,

Not just the V8 but also the gasoline/petrol V6.

The front axle is some 3 in. wider, again to accommodate the engines. The rear axle remains unchanged, as of 2023.

Interestingly, while the front axle from post-2006 models is wider, some parts are the same as in 1999-2006 model year trucks, such as knuckle seals, for instance.
