The factory fogs suck and I've spoiled myself with hid retrofits and aftermarket SAE compliant fog lights on my other vehicles. I remember seeing a photo of a GX470 with aftermarket cube lights fitted to the factory fog location, but I can't find it anymore. Has anyone else attempted this?

Subbed. I have a pair of new OEM sport headlights I’ll be retrofitting HIDs and have been thinking of replacing fogs with aftermarket cubes like Rigid or something.

Let me know how the retrofit goes. I've been considering it using the organized garage status retro quik setup with mini d2s 5.0.

I've wondered about these:

Images are from a 4R grill though. Anyone know about fit for GX470?

Image stolen from GXOR.

The best pod fog is actually no brand and sold on eBay and Amazon for less than $100.
Rigid got SAE compliant LED POD but the cutoff are not as sharp as the cheap no brand one.

In the link there are no drop down options for the GX.

Are those bolted directly to the bumper with no additional brackets? Makes me wonder if I can bolt the Rigid SAE selective yellow pods right into that spot if the dimensions are the same.

Seems all directly mounted to the fog light surround.

I love 5k Baja Design. They are really awesome but not for fog light yet.

I was fussing with mine this morning, and after removing the stock fog lamp assemblies, no matter what I did, putting another fog there just looks like - @$$ (confirmed after reviewing the photos above). To each their own. I have a 6" long X 1" tall yellow LED light "bar" I am mounting in the small grille inwards of each fog lamp. Plan is to move wiring to these bars, leave the stock assemblies in place simply for looks/finished appearance. Need to finish up the brackets yet...

Looks like a pair of fogs and spots would fit in there just nicely. I deactivated my Facebook and have been missing out on the GXOR stuff. Thanks for the photos.

Mine. Simple little mod makes a huge difference in light quality. I painted the inside area flat black to finish it off.

Your stealth mount, how did you do it?

Two galvanized corner brace from rural king and a flat galvanized stock.
I think its 3x3x1 angle bracket and the straight piece are 8x1" bolted to the bumper. I have combo spot and driving. Plan to add spot and SAE fog later.

These dual color LED pod fits inside stock fog light. They are very decent for $50-$70 delivered.
Can be found on eBay, Amazon or aliexpress

The bracket look funky but actually advantageous since you could smash it down to fit the OEM Fog Light housing and enter it properly.

Reused OEM Fog Light housing. I do not intent to put the lens back is the pod need some air circulation to cool off.

The light are actually low and high beam. The white are a lot higher than yellow. The cutoff are pretty good to not blind the other driver.

This was a super helpful thread for my fog light mod and wanted to contribute my project. My main goal was to minimize alteration of the stock bumper/parts. The only alternation that was needed in this build was to create a new drain hole in the bumper frame.

Main ingredients for the fog light mounting bracket were:
four 5 inch T Brackets which will need to be bent and holes drilled/widened a little
four 5/16in x 6in bolts (which fits through the drainage holes in the bumper frame perfectly)
two 5/16in x 2in bolts
six 5/16 x 1inch steel spacers
