All of the information I have been able to track down/read on the rear vent louver trim pieces for the 80 points back to the OEM plastic version. Mine are old, warped, and faded. I was hoping that someone made an aftermarket option (some CNC'd aluminum would be great) that wasn't as prone to breaking. Thus far, I've found nothing other than Ebay listings for Toyota trim pieces and/or a few LC vendors offering the same thing. Anybody have any leads on this? I'ts hard to stomach $160 for a pair of these things when I know they will deform and fade like the original ones.

$160 and last 20+ yrs is not too bad, don't you think so? To me that is an over engineered piece of plastic!! Mine still good on my 97. :)

And they're still available new genuine. Don't fix what's not broken. ;) The vent design on the 100/105 series was quite different but I don't know which is better (80 style or 100/105 style).

Agreed. One of mine was damaged by the PO. I stuck it in with sikaflex. If I thought I could buy a new one for those dollars, I would have replaced it.

One thing with the 80 series D-pillar vents is that they can hide rust.
