Totaled my beloved 98 100 with 475,000 miles. I want another old Beast but I'm cheap. All other things considered equal and stock, which one:
2000 lx470, 113k miles
2002 100, 130k miles

Thanks, compadres

RIP Beast

There are a lot of threads on this and the consensus has been "what do you want?" Do you want the lx with ahc and other extras? Or do you want the LC? Look at some of the recent threads and they should help point you in the right direction.

Hope everyone is ok after that accident. Always hate to see a LC roll.

Thanks everyone. Price is same for LX and LC. I'll spend some quality time and see which one whispers in my ear....

Honestly

On my LC, I pulled the running boards and ran 185/75s. Was very happy with that height. Don't know what I'd gain with she but I know little about it...

285s?

How did your beast end up on its side?

Lx because you will probably want to play with the suspension more than pay money on nav system and the 2000 has nicer leather more than likely.

When I was shopping for mine I was looking at lx and LC's. I stopped looking for LX's because I knew that if I got one I wouldn't be happy because it wasn't a land cruiser. I know they are almost identical, but one has a stigma of a soccer mom truck one shouts the most badass offroad trucks ever made. Just saying

To say the LX is not a landcruiser because it is missing the chrome nameplate is crazy. If you need the badge order the landcruiser Cygnus badge from Toyota because in Japan they sold the LX as a landcruiser kinda like the platinum edition is to U.S. Trucks

I like soccer moms! lol But that ends when it goes home with me, whatever it is...;)

For what it's worth, Cruiser Commandos, this is my advice after 18 years and 475k:
Always use OEM! I had to replace starter twice because some idiot shop put in a Bosch the first time. Also replaced fan clutch twice because another idiot installed a Chinese replacement.

Totally agree with this statement! Remember when you put Chinese parts on a Toyota you turn it into a ford. What's wrong with that truck? Flip it back over cut the top and make a sweet woods buggy.

Anyone else find this thread strangely uplifting?

And yeah, the disrespect for soccer moms here is misplaced. Can we say mall rat posers or something similar?

I would go with the 02. If all things are equal. I take the LC, the mileage difference is minimal and you know how to take it to the max.
