99% would say, don't buy it. IMHO.....I would buy the warranty for $3k. 2009, I bought my 03 Lexus with 38k miles. Bought the warranty through Lexus and it's the best thing I did. I had to take it to the dealer many times without paying a dime (without it I had to pay over $5k).

Since 2015, I have RED AUTO.

GET IT !, it will gives you a peace of mind.

I'm with the avoid it crowd. It's insurance. Insurance is based on a bunch of stats that always come out in favor of the insurer and never the insured. The stats say they'll pay out less than the 3k asking price over the term of the policy, or they wouldn't be offering it. Save your money.

If it was an '06, I might be inclined to get the warranty based on the possibility of the air induction system failing, but that system isn't present on the '05s. Honestly, outside of an AHC failure (assuming you replace it with new AHC components rather than a "regular" LC suspension) or maybe a steering rack needing to be replaced or a new brake master cylinder, you're going to have a hard time coming up with any warranty repairs that cost more than $3k over the next 60k miles. These trucks don't have many component failures and most of the things that might fail, aren't going to cost you that much to fix.

Extended warranties usually don't pay for themselves on reliable cars...ie 100 Cruiser...my thought if the AHC went in my 07 LC is "GREAT, now I can put a lift on it and tell my wife we are SAVING money by doing this"

Now if your buying an Audi RS4, BMW M3 or Mercedes C55 AMG, you're gonna want to get the warranty.
