I have been doing my research on the GX. I found a couple good prospects. One is an 08 with 52K miles and the other an 07 with 117K miles. I checked the service history of both vehicles - both serviced at Lexus.

My dilemma is the 08 has had battery replaced 3 times already, so I am worried there is an underlying issue there. I have had vehicles with electric problems in the past and it's a nightmare.

The 07 is better for me from a color perspective and has good service history (including timing chain and water pump), but the mileage is more than twice the other vehicle.

Advice?

I personally would be a bit concerned about a nine year old vehicle with only 52k miles with 3 battery replacements. However my wife's 2012 Camry with ~50k miles is on its third battery. Other and killing the factory battery and a Toyota 84 month battery, we haven't had any other electrical issues.

The '07 seems like it may have more going for it. Many will agree, that mechanically, mileage isn't that much of an issue with Toyotas.

You mean timing belt (not timing chain). The 07 looks to be better with the timing belt and water pump done.

The 2008 has these differences per Toyota120 web site...

2008 Model

The exterior received a number of changes for 2008, including chromed door handles, dark grille, clear lens indicators in the back and silver wheels. Also 2 new exterior colors.

The interiors have also received a number of changes, including chrome for the speakers, different leather and wood for seats/doors/dash.

The tire pressure system has also been updated to be faster acting.

Copy, timing belt. I am leaning toward the 07, going to make an offer on Monday.
