The factor service manual for my FJ80 specifies adding ND-oil 8, in specified amounts, to the compressor when you change the condenser and receiver in the Air Conditioning system. I am about to change these two parts but I do not know where to add the oil to the compressor. Can anyone shed some light on this for me.

Many thanks,

Eric

You fill it with oil while your charging the system with new Freon. install and replace the parts you need in the AC system then vacuum pump your system for 20-30 minutes using a vacuum pump and ac recharging system hoses. Then pour your oil in along and skinny container or cub. put the charging hose in the oil cup and place the charging hose inside of the cup and start the car with the AC on it will suck the oil out of the cup into your compressor . Then you charge your system with new Freon .

Hi Eric,

You can also add the requisite amount of oil to the condenser and drier when you install them. If it says add an ounce of oil to each componet, use a measuring cup so the amount is accurate, and add it to each piece. Once the oil's in, replace the cap and install the part. This way you don't need to add the oil to the compressor. ND8 oil is PAG 46, which is commonly available.

AC

Speaking of AC, anyone know where to get a complete AC unit for a 70 series?
