I love ol' Master Chief, the '90 FJ62, but I just didn't have the time to devote to him as a daily driver. So what's the most logical choice? Sell him and buy a newer car? HELL NO. Just buy another Cruiser!

One owner, all receipts, 2007, 90k, automatic (wanted a manual but whatever...), either a lift or the leveling kit in the front, can't figure out which, nice bull/brush bar with PIAA aux lights, sliders, roof rack, two tone, etc. etc.

The sickness. I love it.

Although I learned quickly on its inaugural four wheel drive test out that apparently snow hides mud pits really well. That was a $500 mistake. No way to get anyone to drive ol' Master Chief up to come get me out...so I got raped by the towing company. I'm still sore...

Quick question...

It didn't come w/ the factory sub. I checked in back and noticed a connection for something I assume might be the sub. I've noticed over time that most car models are wired for most options, but if not added then they are just not used.

If I pick up a used factory sub (if one can be found) will it be plug and play even without the sub on/off switch in the front center?

If yours doesn't have the d-pillar speakers installed, they too can be quickly plugged into existing wiring behind the blank. I retro-fitted some 4" Fosgate speakers back there using the factory wiring.

Any concrete info on that Delancy? I'm also asking on FJCforums. Maybe someone there will know.

Certain it's not plug and play in the same respect that the 07-09 model years were.

Can it be cobbled? Probably so, but for the minimal benefit of the OE sub, not worth it.

If you're poking around on FJCF, then the answer will be found. There's a lot of knowledgeable stereo techs. Search user " GolfEcho" or "TinCan". Both are professionals.

In my opinion, the sub is for back seat passengers. I could never tell when it was on or off in an OE HU'd FJC.

And then....?

Gorgeous!

Test drove one the other day. LOVE the exterior styling, but the interior was the deal breaker for me.

You don't like the interior?

Older subwoofers can be easily bolted in, plugged in and work. You don't need the subwoofer switch to make it work, but you do need to jumper the wires on the subwoofer switch plug so that the subwoofer amp gets it's turn-on signal. I'm pretty sure 2011 and newer subs can not be used or even retrofit without major work since the audio systems in the newer models are bus based systems and the wiring is completely changed from the older models.
