Just picked this up at a garage sale today and obviously I'm missin something here. Do I need a coupler to connect these leads? My AC Arc Welder the leads are one piece into the machine. Just wondering if there's a coupler I can buy to connect them together.

Yep, you only have half the leads. Those plug into the other half, which has a ground clamp and stinger.

I have the the stinger and ground leads (red ends in pic) and the leads coming out of welder (black in pic) It looks like I just need to connect the two.

I thought the two connectors shown were on the two ends of the wires coming out of the machine?

The connectors should be matched. One will fit the connector on the wire to the ground clamp and the other will fit the wire to the stinger.

I think whats happening is the stinger and gnd leads are for a different machine. The diameter of the metal ends are different and one of the ends would be female to plug into. I will check at a welding shop.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you reverse the ground clamp and the stinger when welding with DC?

Yes, you can. But if you notice, the switch on the machine has +, -, and AC settings. So there is no reason to reverse the wires. Therefore, to avoid confusion, the connectors should go together only one way - so you don't have the wires set up for - and the switch set to + and you're wondering what is going wrong.
