I have an 82 fj60 and put on a weber 32/36 and am having all kinds of problems with the throttle linkage. I have spent hours upon hours with various brackets and cables trying to make that 90 degree turn from the firewall to the linkage. I finally have something rigged up to where the cable seems to work out all right but now my accelerator pedal and the bracket that the accelerator cable attaches to has become warped and stripped. I tried welding the two pieces together but it only holds for a while. Anybody have any ideas or any thoughts on where to find a new pedal and bracket? I found one for $149 but that seems steep. I don't know what else to do

See if Man-A-Fre will sell you the brackets that they include with their Weber kits; they retain the stock linkage and work flawlessly. If you must use a cable, get something really long and try making a long loop to get back to where you want to be. Thta will get rid of crazy kinks in the sytem.
