AC knob replacement for aftermarket ones

I was thinking of upgrading my knobs to something like this

in the hope it would improve the dated design of this:

stock radio - narrow

Would anyone know the diameter and the inside knob connection (i.e. D shape)

Has anyone else done anything similar....what do you think it would look like?

I can't recall the exact size, but you can easily take a knob off by pulling on it. They just pop right off so you could easily check it out for yourself and take measurements.

I was worried i'd have to rip the dash apart to unclip them.... will give it a go when the car is back from mech's garage

No problem, it's funny cause this popped up too, it's a knob epidemic lately.
