When replacing the AC compressor on an 80 you remove a top plate to swap in the hose connection plate from the original unit. These plates have a low side connection which I use as a test fixture to vacuum down the pump and check it for a leak when divorced from the system. I've got two of these plates including the associated o-rings for a R-134 setup.
I use the supplied o-ring when I install the fixture to rule out that being a problem. If the pump holds vacuum over night I then reinstall the factory plate with that o-ring and new o=rings on the hoses and check the system again.
I find it's a nice tool to confirm that the pump itself is the problem or one of the problems when reviving a system.
I've got two of these fixtures available and would like $26.00ea shipped CONUS.
