When replacing the AC compressor on an 80 you remove a top plate to swap in the hose connection plate from the original unit. These plates have a low side connection which I use as a test fixture to vacuum down the pump and check it for a leak when divorced from the system. I've got two of these plates including the associated o-rings for a R-134 setup.

I use the supplied o-ring when I install the fixture to rule out that being a problem. If the pump holds vacuum over night I then reinstall the factory plate with that o-ring and new o=rings on the hoses and check the system again.

I find it's a nice tool to confirm that the pump itself is the problem or one of the problems when reviving a system.

I've got two of these fixtures available and would like $26.00ea shipped CONUS.

the earlier 80s were R12 while the later ones were R134. They use the same pump but have different hose adapter plates in that the hose connections are different, the framework of the plate itself is the same. So these will bolt up to the pumps in an R12 system. You would just have to have the correct hose connector on your gauge set to use it.
