So about 2 months ago, I began to have the "tiking" from the AC blower. So...I took off the blower and cleaned it out (picture 1, leaf can be seen). The ticking stopped...but then it started chirping. So, I decided to go non-OEM and get one off the Bay, AC Blower motor that fit my truck. It was a simple DIY unscrew, drop the old one and put the new one in its place. Took me 15 minute tops.

Fast forward, have had Zero issues with any noise from blower. It cycles/blows and I have had zero issues with it.

Now...I noticed some condensation on what appears to be the evaporator cover. There is water that drains outside when I park. Sometimes the condensation drips on to the floor mat. Could this be from the non-OEM fan? Or is this more than likely from a clogged drain? Water does come out the bottom of the truck (looks normal to me, certianly hasn't changed.)

I did just have my A/C recharged as well. It was low (took 400g, .9lbs), so could the recharge have caused the additional condensation? Before changing the Blower, I had zero issues with condensation (that I noticed, drips) After a month, the AC still blows cold like it did right after the re-charge. Whatever leak I have seems to be small.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm curious if the non-OEM blower and/or recharge would have caused the increase in condensation?

It's not a bad drip. Water still drips out the bottom (what looks like normal) but be partially blocked. I've got a long drive coming up, so we'll see. I'll make sure the evaporator drain tube is clear before the long drive, then if it exists, looks like it might then be the seal.

I think increase in ambient temperature would be the cause of increase in condensation.

so strange !! i had the same issue. clicking issue from the blower motor, cleaned some leaves out of it, no more clicking but now randomly hearing chirping noise - which is even more annoying than the clicking !!!

The chirping was intermittent after I took the leaf out...I heard it a couple times even before the leaf. I think the bearing was going...just the timing. I replaced the blower...no more noises.

I had a subtle squeak from the blower on low, which dissapeared on high. When I pulled the blower out I could see a light contact mark in the housing from the squirrel cage. Bearings in the motor seemed fine - no end float. RHD fans are expensive, so I packed the blower mounting flange out with a thin layer of closed cell neoprene foam (similar to this NIT686-5 | Nitto Black EPDM Rubber Sheet, 1m x 500mm x 5mm | RS - https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/rubber-sheets/2027911) and the squeaking has gone. I'm sure I've reduced the blower efficiency by 3%, but I'm okay with that for a free fix.

No, the condensation leak dripping on your passenger side floor is not related to your blower fan. That’s caused by a few potential issues:
• seal has failed and is easily fixable by replacing it with a new one.
• drain may be clogged and the catch basin for the evaporator my need cleaning to remove the debris causing the drain plug clogged.

Here is a sample picture of that condensation catch basin before & after:

While at it, might want to consider cleaning the evaporator, I used warm water to rinse the dirt on the fins of the evaporator:
