It's been done.... I have a Griffin 4 core, 1" tube, 19"x31" aluminum in the 45.
Lots of OEM radiators in late model cars have aluminum coils, but plastic tanks epoxied onto the core.
Roundy-round radiators are TIGged or furnace brazed.
