1997 Lexus LX 450. The wife :princess: has had the truck bout a week. We had it checked over before purchase and all looked good except PO was late in his PM. It's on my to-do list.

Two days ago, the ABS light came on, stayed on awhile, and went off. I drove it around town today and after about 2 mins the ABS light would come on and stay on. Turn car off, back on - no light - 2 mins later - light  Got under the hood, brake fluid looks dark (dirty?) but is at the "max" line. Low and behold, the sensor wire from the brake fluid was uncoupled. Could it be that easy?! Recoupled, cranked her up and no light.............for 2 mins. UGH!

Tried 4 Low, no light, back to 4 High, light :crybaby:

This thread seemed the most helpful from search:

but I was wondering if ya'll had any other ideas, please.

I'd suggest calling the PO and ask for the history. It would be my guess that he'd already been dealing with it and can tell you what he's already tried.

Good idea, but....

Its a good idea, however, we don't talk anymore. When he wanted to prorate the life of the sparks in the sales price, we stopped being friendly and just did the sale.

I suspect this is a new problem. I reviewed the records from Sears (yikes) and have the records from the mechanic that worked on it here. This truck was his wife's ride and she drove around their two small children. You gotta pray he wouldn't get too "thrifty" and compramise their safety....
