So i towed my boat yesterday and parked at a friends house and when I got back in the truck the shifter was stuck in park and i had to use the override push button on the console to get my 2000 LC into drive. I noticed there were 3 lights on: ABS, VSC off, and VSC sumthin else. I also noticed i have no brake lights so im guessing something shorted out from connecting the boat to the LC. I drove it to work with no brake lights after checking every fuse in under the hood. (i couldnt see where there was a fuse specifically for brakes so i pulled them all and all are fine).

Anybody got any idea how to repair my LC? Thanks /DuckLN

You could also disconnect the battery for a little while, this may fix it.....atleast temporarily.

I fixed it - 15 amp fuse above the brake pedal was out. Thanks for the help guys.

Now if i can just get this driver side manifold replacement accomplished!:p

Yup, figured that out back in 2003. Basically if your trailers wiring is messed up, it'll pop your trucks fuse. You need to replace the OEM harness with an isolating system which draws from the battery itself and only uses the truck for signal input instead of just tapping into the circuit.

Just went through this tonight. Installed my new e-trailer plug and play harness. Ran wire to battery as per instructions and also grounded to a location. Plugged in trailer and trailer lights lit up. Right turn signal worked then checked the left and my cruisers light would blink once and make the turn signal noise and then it would stop. Then I tried the brake light and nothing. Then I went to move the truck and the shifter was stuck. Replaced fuse and all is good.

So how do I fix this issue I need to use my trailer this week and it's going to suck if I just wasted that money on e-trailer.

Bump for help with this issue

Man I love MUD.

Bought a trailer last night and this morning had the above symptoms.

20 minutes searching MUD and it's fixed.
