I have a 2006 HDJ100 with the A750 auto, it is stuck in high range. I have tried lubing it and also changing from high to low when stationary, engine off, gearbox in neutral and park, all to no avail.
Any ideas on how to remove the transfer lever? I would prefer not removing the box, but maybe lower the cross member and get to the four bolts.
Is the lever connected to anything in the box?

I don't know how the RHD or diesel engine might alter the layout, but on a US (LHD) petrol model, I wasn't able to find an easy way to do it.

This thread gave me my eventual solution:
Transfer case

Multiple (heavy) applications of a (spray) penetrating oil (PB Blaster), directed through a spray straw, into the tube that acts as the pivot point for the transfer case lever (see drawing attached in the above thread) and slowly working it loose over the course of a few weeks. It took a bit of patience and a bit of elbow grease, but it is working much better now. 6 months later, I can move it back and forth with 2 fingers, where originally it would barely move with 2 hands on the lever, and both feet buried in the footwell.

Top of the TC is tough to get to, even removing the cross brace doesn't give much added room to work with.

Heres the schematic of the lever mechanism. Post up how you go with it.
