i always need one...unfortunately, until i find a better paying career, ain't getting no more cruisers

I'm buying a house in about 60 days so cash is more than scarce.
The Parkinson's need another Cruiser! Rob would look good sitting behind the wheel as well as Max or you Kiel.
While I need cash I'd swap Rob for that old Porsche he has just sitting around.
I recognize the place you melted down. I have driven that road a hundred times although I have never had a failure that cuased all the grief you had...
Would a tranny cooler have helped?

Alex, I now (hindsight being 20/20) suggest anyone with an A440F to run a cooler. Many others before me have said the same thing.
Maybe my experience will prod a few people to do it.

I'd like to hear what other H55F owners with the 3FE are running as far as gears are concerned. I don't plan on re-gearing and like my 33's but would appreciate hearing from those actually running the 5-speed I will be.

im ordering one tomorrow. I have wanted to do it for the last year since my red light has been coming on near eisenhower pass.
I have a 3F carb with 33" and is currently regearing to 4,56:1 .
( stock is 4,11:1 in the Africa spec FJ62 and that doesn't work well with 33" / 3F / H55f combo )
With 32X11.50 sized tires, 3.70 diff ratio, H55, 8% lower high range transfer case gears, and the 3FE I do 70 MPH (GPS verified) @ 2650 RPMs. This is probably a good set-up for 33s gearing/power wise. I think going from 3.7 to 4.11 in the diffs is ~11% lower (and a little lower than my set-up) so it should be fine for 33s.
The difference is when you are in 5th gear on the freeway and you give it gas it goes instead of having to wait for the downshift and acceleration with the A440F.

Yeah... we need another cruiser... to add to the 4 we have already among the 12 cars that we already have... but alas... none of us really have the money to spare right now...

Sounds good to me, Chris. I've driven Mitch Rowland's 62 with the H55F and it works really well on the hiway. You'll be happy because I know you have wanted a 60 all along!

It's looking that way isn't it? I'll say I always wanted a 3FE powered 60 with the creature comforts of a 62.
