Guys,

I'm working on gather info about a place called Swiss down in the New River..Gauly area of WV. It's tight..have seen numerous vidoes and it's a rockcrawl with very challenging trails.

Most camp at the New River Campgrounds or at Ferris Inn in Somerset. Swiss is an actual town.

Thinking a run down there in March or April would be nice...how many of you guys would be interested if I arrange us a guide to show us the trails?

Marty..I think you were there a few years ago in the Taco for your Birthday?

Just exploring interest and options right now.

Are the trails big (wide) enough to get the 80 on?

I have been there several times. It's been a few years since I have been there. I would say 80s can fit though the trails with obvious pin stripping. Best thing to do is to contact the guys at http://www.mountaineeroffroad.com/
It is somewhat private old mining lands from what I recall. I know don knows his way around there pretty darn good. I doubt he come to show you around. I would be up for it depending on my schedule and the kiddos. It is a great place to wheel.

We can find other guides than Don. I'll get some more info on the place and descriptions.

Like Marty says though..it's a damn nice place to wheel.

I am very interested but can not do March and am
still throwing around the April ride at Harlan??

I have to be in Harlan for this run for the Ftoys...so I'll be there regardless.

A trip to Swiss might now work out till later in the year. We'll just have to see.

My definates this year are:

MOAB
Tellico in June for the SE4RJ
Baja in August.

Maybe the Black Hills Classic (REALLY want to do this run but it's in July.)

Okay..

It's 211 miles to Swiss, WV from Columbus. 3 hours and 45 minutes.

Will try and get us a guide lined up and set a date and see who can make it.

Well, tentative for the 3rd or 4th weekend in March..

Will work on getting the guide set up and maybe we can extend an invite to the other TLCA chapters in the area.

Pencil me in. I should have the lift on the 80 by then, not sure of sliders though:eek:

I might be able to make it. Depending on the $$$$ at the time.

We could even do over Memorial weekend too..I don't care when..just gotta go.

Well I think im Good for just about whenever I should put some brakes on my samurai and get the tires rebalanced. I woudl like to rebuild the front and rear ends and gear down but thats low on the priority list.
