I'm new to my LC200. I put in an aftermarket front axle. Don't worry, I learned my lesson.

Installed: July 1, 2025
Boot failure noted: Sept 2, 2025
Complete failure*: Sept 14, 2025

*OK, It's not COMPLETE yet. But you can hear me coming 2 blocks away, especially if I have to make a left turn. I'm saving my few remaining miles to drive to the local shop when the OEM axle comes in.

Depends on your needs and how hard you wheel. Breaking axles on the trail in the middle of nowhere with no cell service is no fun, to say the least.

How many people that you know of have broken an OEM IFS axle with no warning? It doesn't seem to be a common problem.

"No cell service" is the new way of saying "unprepared." If you're wheeling on the kind of trail where axles break with no sat comms, you're not the brightest. Not that a broken axle is ever fun, but "I can't call for help" is no longer something you should ever say.

Had the same experience with my Tacoma. Less than 8 months and the aftermarket axle I put in was trash. I put in another OEM there too.

Same with my FJC, but it made it like 15k miles....still sucks to have to go back in there and redo it.
