A knocking up front and random skid alert. ?? SOLVED

Perhaps this will ring a bell with someone.

I'm getting a knock up front going over small bumps as well as a random skid alert out of the blue. But not at the same time.

The knock sounds like a shock bolt loose but I cannot tell that anything is loose.

Any ideas? Thank you

Check front sway bar end links. They snap every now and then. The remaining hardware can thump.

If that's it, is it dangerous to drive? It doesn't seem to be but don't know.

Without knowing what it is, no one can say if it is safe or not. Would hate to give you bad advise. Just try and find the cause of noise, check ball joints, sway bar links, bushes, wheel bearings etc.

Thanks, just wondering about immediate danger if it was the sway bar end links as suggested.

If it is sway bar links then that wouldnt be to dangerous, just more roll when cornering.

It's a little disconcerting when you've got a cruiser full of Scouts and gear, a load on the roof, and pulling a 1/4 T military trailer and you take a gravel bend at 50...

The problem was a disentigrating bushing on PS holding the steering rack.

Yes, replacing bushing did fix skid control alert as well.
