Hey Everyone - I have an 03 w/ 96k and the a/c wasn't working which turned out to be a crack in the rear line. I had the repair completed and when I took possession, the temperature in NJ was in the low 70's and the a/c was blowing ice cold. Great I thought, one item off the maintenence list!
I really didn't use the a/c much after that since the spring weather's been really nice around here but yesterday we hit high 80's/90's. Now, I park the truck all day in a commuter lot so the sun's beating down on the it and what I notice is the a/c is not really cooling down the interior. The air is not ice cold (or as cold as it should be), even after 20/30 minutes. I put a thermometer in the vent and the best I got was 75, with the a/c on auto/max cold
This morning, it was 70 and cloudy with humidity. After the truck warmed up a bit, I put on the a/c and its blowing ice cold. Put the thermometer in the vent and I got 63 degrees, a/c on auto/max cold.
My question is, as a new LX owner, should the a/c be able to push ice cold air after baking in the sun all day or do I need to have something done to the system to make it perform better?
Thanks to all who answer.
