Bart, what was the final fix - the full can OR continuity on the switch wires?

It was not electrical at all...just needed a recharge. There are still bubbles visible in the glass, but I'm not going to sweat that right now with cold air blowing.

So how much did that cost you? I recently sunk 130$ into Grease Monkey charging mine in richmond.

$10 for a can at Wal-Mart, but I borrowed the hose+gauge from Tracy. You can buy the can with the hose for about $25.
Damn! That's a hard lesson learned.

One benefit of having a garage do it is that they will evacuate the system, removing moisture in the process, and check for leaks. You don't get that with the can from Wal-Mart.
Right on but if I had gone that route first I could have saved 100$ That 100 could have gone somewhere else like towards a lift for the 80
