My entire HVAC control board (40th Anniversary automatic HVAC) is dead. Some of the lights light when button pushed, and some don't, but nothing happens.

I read about the AC Amplifier crapping out, but does that kill the heat and blower also?

If so, where is this thing?

Any help is greatly appreciated. It's getting HOT out.

On the back of the climate control there is a switch A and M. I read if you switch it to M it will work but not have the auto function.

You can open the amplifier and check the board for blown capacitors etc.. trying to find a used one is hard. Air Amplifier Assembly 96-97 Auto Air [88650-60212 / 60211 / 60210] - $450.00 : CruiserParts.net, Toyota Landcruiser Parts

I'm not 100% sure, to me the ac amplifier would have to be able to control the blower to speed up or slow down to achieve it's setpoint.

AC fuse good.

I never use it on auto. Come to think of it that was the first problem, it switched to auto itself and I couldn't switch it back. The next time it was dead.

I had the whole HVAC panel out today and saw that the back of that box snaps open in the back and has a few holes in it covered in a rubber like tape. Is one of those covering this switch? Or maybe it's a set screw in the hole? `

My drivers side floor is always wet after rain. And I did have the windshield pulled last year for rust repair. If that's my problem I know a certain body shop that's buying me a new AC amp!

Here you can see the back of the unit has a switch with the A and M

Oh that's awesome! Thanks CCSlider.

Do we know for sure that this bypasses both amps, or just one of them? If just one, which one?

Oh well..... Switch trick didn't work.

But today it decided it wants the blower on full all the time, and the AC switch was lit - until it wasn't. So when I first put the key on and it blew air I thought it was fixed. Bummer.

Sorry I don't have the auto feature. Just passed on what I read.

Hi all, It's me again. And my HVAC still doesn't work. Due to a bad injury I couldn't use my rig all spring/summer so it just sat, problems and all.

So before I shell out $450 for an AC Amplifier (part #60212) I'd just like to know if my total hvac failure could be caused by that other hvac amplifier (passenger side?) rather than this drivers side AC Amplifier. Anyone know?
