At a Dallas dealer there is a '99 LX470 Dark Green for sale. It has 56,800 miles listed for $26,995. It looks clean on the website.

Is it a good price? If it's clean, should I offer 24k?

seems high at first glance

Seems average for the year, the mileage, and the fact that it's at a dealer lot.

Wouldn't hurt to offer $24K and see how low they are willing to go. I'd bet they got it for around $19K, so you are still giving them decent profit.

22-23k is a very fair reasonable offer. If t hey will not go for it, you can find them on e bay for that price in the 60-75k mile mark. And that really is not a lot of miles.

I bought my '98 LX470 about 4 months ago with 78,000 miles for $22,000 and it's in excellent condition, just for comparison.

I don't think you can compare without knowing if anyone has bought from a dealer, especially a Toyota or Lexus dealer, vs. a private individual or wholesaler. The dealer generally has more on the line, therefore will make more effort (if they're honest) than anyone else. Who do you go to when a major problem shows up shortly following a purchase? I don't think there is any recourse from an individual, short of gross misrepresentation, which would be hard to prove.

If it's Sewell and 1) they have complete maintenance records for the truck, 2) they'll let you talk to the PO; and 3) they'll give you a certified warranty,
make them an offer and buy it.
They don't haggle a whole lot, and they'll sell it through their nationwide online operation fairly quickly if nobody local wants it.
