Hello Gents,

I have an opportunity to pick up Brand New OEM brake kit for 2014 Landcruiser (2x front calipers with rotors, pads and lines + 2x rear calipers with rotors, pads and lines) for a very good price. Incidentally my 99 LC needs 2 front rotors and pads all around & also need to rebuild one of the front calipers

Now my question is, can this brake conversion be done? I am guessing there would be some extra work required and it probably wont just bolton.

Has anyone done this brake conversion from 100 series to 200 series ?? If so how hard was it and what extra parts would I need??

Any and all help, advice, suggestions are appreciated.

One of the weakest areas in the 100 is breaks. I found that Toyota makes changes from one model year to another. You need to talk to an expert...interesting!

Just upgrade your brake rotors and pads, bleed and replace the brake fluid if it hasn't been done, you'll notice a difference.

Don't agree. Just did a brake service, and the brakes are fantastic again. Caliper service kit (I had two stuck pistons - using brakes too little) and skimmed the discs (because of rust on the innermost part on the backside). Now they're just like new again.

Thanks for the reply guys. I will just get 2 front rotors, rebuild the caliper and pads all around with brake bluid and call it a day.

Curve ball: If you don't mind running 18" wheels ("35")...the Stoptech BBK will put any notion of inadequate brake performance, with super long life rotors, to bed; they laugh at long high mountain pass desents. One of the best $/bang for the buck mods I've done.

So somewhere along the line the PO ditched the shims and springs on the front calipers. The friendly local stealership wants over $80 for these trinkets.

Call Beno, Sam ? Vatozone?

I remember, when I had the OEM brake set-up the OEM anti-squeel shims were spendy for sure.
