so the wheel swapped right in. No issues.
this is a 1/2  job. it wasnt even worth doing a DIY since several others have done this before and posted how-to threads.

Nice job on the steering wheel, I really love how the wooden Lexus steering feels. Too bad there isn't any wood left in the car for me to match it to.

Subscribed to see how you resolve the seat hight issue. I'm putting Acura TSX seats in my LC right now. Was looking for Toyota or Lexus leathers then came across a new pair of TSX seats for $200 on craigslist. I figured for the price I paid, I could just resell them if it didn't work.

I've completed the passenger side so far. However, the seat sits 3 inches too high in front due to the way the factory seats mount to the crossmember. We're working out an alternative method to mount it so it doesn't sit so high. Once it's complete, we'll start on the driver seat.

Vasir: could you post up a couple more photos of the steering wheel/dash from further back, say from outside an open driver's side door? Also, what year LS400 steering did you use?

Very nice fleet of w140's. The 600 looks great, I'm a huge fan of large white sedans. I recently sold my alpine white BMW 7 series and really wish I had not. Your 600 would look killer with a set of unobtainium 19" staggered amg monoblocks...which is pretty much my ideal MB.

Anyway, good luck with those seats.

What year LS400 is the wheel from? Do those buttons hook up to anything?

Can you reuse the Toyota horn pad? For us with Toyotas?

That I don't know.. I don't see why not? I feel it's safe to assume it would work since most al Toyota/Lexus things swap.

If it doesn't fit you can take it a step further and get a Jdm celsior one.

Thanks for posting this thread. I just bought a tan/ wood ls400 wheel for the lx this morning. I hated the leather wheel once it started to fall apart. Now time to fix the seats. I am looking forward to your replacement. I have really wanted to avoid using seat covers...

Ok, working on the steering wheel swap.

I bought a 99 ls400 wood wheel for $175 off of car-parts. The 1999 ls400 wheel is not a direct swap due to the horn pad. Everything else works. The ari bag will bolt up. I am not 100% on the wiring being the same either, I will trace that out latter. The LX450 horn pad is much different than the 1999 ls400 horn pad they are not interchangable. If you buy the steering wheel be sure to get the horn pad. with the wheel.

I will post a solution when I work out the details.

Sorry no pics unless another wants to post for me.

So more searching on this issue of the airbag swap.

The ls400 wheel is without the horn pad bolted to the steering wheel.... The horn pad is intergated into the airbag assembly. If you look at the pic from the op post you will see the audio controls on the wheel. The controls are on the airbag assembly. Further from all the information I have collected the 98-00 ls400 air bag is a two stage bag and is not usable with the single stage system in the lx450.

If I am missing information on the air bag swap, I would really like to know from the orginal poster.

Thanks

I to have a 92 600 sel, it's been in the shop more then i drive it tho, over 400hp which i like. I also dig your updated v12 wheels. Hands down on the steering wheel swap i like that, cant wait for the pics of the seats installed. It's creative people like you that keep us glued to this website and look forward to the new threads that pop up the next hour, Much luck to you and enjoy the process.
