Hey Ya'll wassup.
I was just curious what the value of my LC was these days. Kelly Bulls**t Book says she's only worth around $5,620 private party on average. I would hope that a "98 with diff locks and only 164K original miles could fetch more than 5 friggin grand. I mean its also white, which is prob the most desired color for this year of a 100 series LC. I think possibly only an LC enthusiast would know the real value these days. I am only the second owner. I have never taken her offroad other than the dirt beach parking lot by my house.

The pics posted of her are from a couple years ago. I had originally planned on doing a lift, bumpers and a slight build-out but just never got around to it. The paint job is original and has its share of parking lot nicks and scratches. The paint also almost has a matte white look to it as it has lost its shine in some areas. I'm not sure if it can be buffed out back to life or not as I have not tried. It also has one small dent right in front of the right rear tire that it came with when I bought it. There are only a few differences now from the time I took the photos. I've put 16" SCS matte black wheels w/Hankook Dynapro's on her. Sold the stock wheels. The new rims have a slight offset so the tires sit more flush to the outside of the wheel wells than stock. The stock running boards have been sold and swapped out with matte black sliders made by Outpost Offroad (OPOR). The rear spoiler wing I also removed (and sold) and put little rubber grommets in the holes. The stock roof rack was removed and sold. Mounting roof rack holes have the orig. bolts back in and are covered with Toyota factory covers. Interior is all stock tan color. Stock stereo. Everything works. Clean condition.

So I was just hoping to get a few estimated value numbers from as many MUD heads that feel like chiming in. I need to get a truck for work, surfing, and just need a bigger vehicle for life in general, these days. I do not want to sell my LC but it may not be an option to keep her unfortunately. I would think that it would be worth around $9-12K in really good condition. But I just wanted to see what IH8MUD thinks....I can post some current pics if it matters or helps....LMK.

With those miles, and if its a rust free truck its worth approx $9000 - $10,000
Do not sell it. The values of these Land Cruisers will go up. Also, i am sure FJ Cruisers will go up too in price.

I just recently bought a 2002 clean for $6500 but it has 315K miles on it. Here are pics.

When market data is scarce or non-existent KBB uses algorithms based on age, other models, etc. They don't actually have any idea what series 100 trucks are going for. You should pay no attention to them.

I have a clean 2000 LC with 123k miles and I am the original owner. I am not selling it but would like to know what the current fair market value is. I have been relying on KBB but now understand it is not reliable regarding Land Cruisers.

@meangreen My 99LC was purchased for a undisclosed price of 4k above KBB 2 years ago with 130k on the clock. I know, I know. Let all the haters chime in. I most recently talked to the same dealer and he said "I let that one go for too cheap!" He went on to say "I could sell that same one today with the same miles for $20k as it sits." I wouldnt sell it. Believe me, I have considered it based on seeing several built 200's out there. But Ive been fairly happy with my purchase. Good Luck!

^ For West Texas weather, White is the color if one wants to get in to a gently warm interior on a hot summer day.

Where are you located? I may buy another Cruiser 98 or 99 if it comes at $3000 with 150 to 170K miles.

I have never seen a land cruiser with those miles at that price and I have been looking for quiet some time. Even on eBay they are fetching very good money

I grew up in Midland, TX and worked oil and gas for over 25 years ............. White in my mind will always be commercial fleet - base model... IH8WHITE ... HA

Nice! White paint is easy to clean and won't peel as other colors. So many advantages on white as opposed to other colors. Anyways that is my choice.

Ebay is a sellers market... Not a buyers market. Had a buddy buy a 2003 LX with 146K for 5800.00 a couple of weeks ago. One owner and a 3" thick binder of maintenance receipts.

in for opinions

My last purchase nearly two years ago was a '99 LC with 312K miles. I paid $2800. It has 369k miles now and it would probably take close to $10k before I would sell it.

The. 1998-99 trucks do not have the VSC issues and have lockers. These are the ones that are worth the money as they start going up in value. The less the electrical crap the better, keep it!

Trucks are worth as much as someone is willing to pay.
I see 98-2002 with 140-180K for 2800-4500.00 on a regular basis here. I passed on a 1999 w/ 169K last week for 5500.00. Exterior was an 8 and interior a 7.
Unfortunately I didn’t shop the Redding, CA market before I paid 3.5k for ‘00 LX with 330k miles and a blown front diff.

In Cali the mileage plus LC nameplate makes it a 8k-11k cruiser because owners "know what they got" haha! The price you pay for lower mileage.

I paid $5k for my 99 with 192k on it in December of 2018 from a high volume ritzy dealer that just wanted it gone because it was a 99. Very happy with my price.

the 100s are now in the "twilight zone" of pricing and kbb cant get an accurate data, which is based on DMV reports.

i know there are people who buy privately and list a much lower number when re-titling to avoid taxes which messes up the KBB numbers, which in turn the Insurance relies on.

this is partly why I am hesitant to go all out with mods since the insurance wont pay as much as the mods.

Been there, done that with my 1999 ford lightning with built everything. I thought I had the right insurance, I was only paid HALF what i put into int.
