Has anyone used the following mast repair kits from CruiserParts for their ‘97 LC antenna?

1997 Mast Repair Kit (aftermarket) 86337-60080-A

1997 Mast Repair Kit (OEM) 86337-60080

Any videos of the actual repair steps?

Very much appreciated. Sláinte!
I tried using the OEM kit and when it works, it basically just requires a helper to manipulate the control in the cabin while you feed the mast into the antenna drive.

This assumes you have a nice clean drive to install in. With the age these trucks are getting to, mast failure often involve the first, biggest mast section getting corroded fast to the upper tube of the drive, where it gets broke off. Then when you install a new mast, the antenna won't retract all the way.

I hear ya.

I’m getting the feeling that I’d be better off leaving the original antenna and manually put it up/down (it still does the job at getting reception), or swap it out with a fixed flexible rubber version when I swap out the original HU radio.

Good timing on posting this! Doing the same thing right now. Motor still works and sounds clean, I was surprised how good it sounded.

Going to buy the aftermarket one and give it a try!
