My VIN number 97 LC says I need antenna 86300-60080, what I'm finding is 86300-60050 which is also listed for a 1997. Can anyone tell me the difference- mounting or plug?

What is the best way to remove the antenna.

Thank you all. Happy Holidays!

Do you wish to keep the power antenna, or replace it with a rubber ducky type?
I replaced mine with a generic, short rubber one. The signal is fine, and I don't ever have to worry about it in the woods.

Here is the write up on how to do it.
You just need a file to reduce the head of the carriage bolt so it fits the factory antenna tube, it takes about 15 minutes to install.
No mucking about with antenna wires, literally plug and play.
I did undo the harness connector for the power antenna at the fennder so the un-used antenna motor doesn't run.

Thank you for your reply. Looking to keep everything OEM.

I went ducky for 2 years and regretted every minute of it. When it snapped off I bought an Oem mask and put my power back in.

Clear signal once again

Thank you!
You're very welcome. If you change your mind, just know the mod takes like 10 minutes and is completely reversable with a new antenna.
