Hi, I searched the forum for this and couldn't find anything. Please lmk if this has already been covered.
I have a '97 FZJ80 in Texas.
I've repaired the rear fender flares several times and understand how they attach w/ various hardware. Now I have the front driver/left side flare partially detached (daughter encounter w/ Sonic pipe bollard).
It looks like the plastic clips are sheared off that attach to the bolts. The flare is still attached by the two lowest connections on the ends which maybe a rivet (front) and bolt (rear). My questions:
1. How do I access the bolts which attach to the bracket on the inside of the body frame? It's up inside the wheel-well. Can't get to it from the engine compartment. Do I have to remove the wheel well liner? There are lots of bolts under there....
2. Any secrets on how to deal with removing rivets? I've already solved how to replace a rivet connection, just not sure how to remove one that is still perfectly attached (so I can fix the brackets on the front fender flare).
Thanks for any advise.
Cheers,
Rob
