I hate intermittent problems. Has new plugs, new #6 injector, new plug wires and new coils. 190 psi compression. Problem seems to be after a hot soak, driving, getting engine plenty hot then letiing in sit 30-45 minutes. Misfire is immediately after start up, may go away after driving less than even a cpl hundred feet. Or it may keep misfiring while driving. Has fault code for #6 misfire. May drive it 2 - 3 days before it happens again. Experience??

I have an intermittent #2 misfire. I am prepping to tear into this problem. Going to start with the basic stuff that needs replacing (pkugs, wires, possibly coils). I was thinking in your case if it would be possible that fuel injector wiring could be a culprit. Sounds like you've put some work (and cash) into it. Good luck.

I've had this happen twice on my 96. Plugs and wires the first time. Plugs the second. The wasted spark system wears out plugs twice as fast. My second replacement at 200k ish the center electrode was so far worn you couldn't even see it down in the head of the spark plug. Looked like an empty hole. Still ran - just misfired once and a while when starting hot. I'm a believer in OEM wires - my experience with after market wires on new cars is that they just aren't worth the savings of a few $. Just my .02. Good luck!

Never updated...turned out to be a cracked plug wire on #2. Replaced the wires (Napas finest), oem plugs, and new boots. Runs great.
