So it has happened. My moderate to severe blow by and consumption has now become substantial blue smoke out the tail pipe. When I accelerate away from a stop light it leaves a blue cloud that leaves cyclists giving me the finger, which as a cyclist myself , and living in a national park, hurts.....
I have owned this truck since around 260k km (now 360k). It has always had blow by and consumption but, wasn't burning. Until Now. She smokes bad. And stiiiiinks. I've already replaced the head and turbo so it is unlikely it's guides or seats, turbo seals etc. Intake is coated in oil pre turbo as well. looks like a duck, smells like a duck etc etc....
So, before I tear it down to confirm I would like to have most, if not all of the necessary parts/kits on hand so I'm not down for too long. There is a diesel machine shop nearby that can hone/sleeve/deck etc. I should mention I live in Alberta, Canada. I would like a complete rebuild kit with sleeves just in case the cylinders need to be machined. Anyone have a suggestion for where to procure that at a reasonable price and with no chineseium parts preferred. It's time to do the timing belt/tensioner and water pump as they are just coming up on 100k as well.
I have a VE rebuild kit. A power steering pump rebuild kit. I have just put a brand new blue viscous fan clutch in with 30k CST fluid. The ECU was rebuilt. I've rebuilt almost everything else on this truck, body is in good shape and frame has very little rust etc etc so it makes sense to me to not let it die. I guess the other option is a crate motor off e bay etc but then I'm hoping I'm not inheriting someone else's problems.
I'm open to suggestions and conversations.
