Check it, biologically, if I see a hole, I want to fill it. And that’s exactly what I did here:

In other news, I’m searching for painters near me. I have been searching for weeks unsuccessfully.
1. Found one guy that does it in his garage and has been painting for 40 years. He is reluctant to take doors off and windows out so he is on the back burner.
2. Found another place. Paint jobs start at $35k. 🤣🤣🤣
3. Found another place who will swing over and give me an estimate tomorrow.
4. I have a guy, but that means I have to transport my 80 and that will cost $5k round trip just for logistics.
5. Been searching around a 250-500 mile radius and I can’t believe how difficult it is to find someone who wants to paint an entire vehicle.
6. Most shops just want to do insurance/collision claims.
7. Anyone out there know of anyone who paints entire cruisers in the south east region?

I don’t know where he is, but there’s at least one guy on here who paints Cruisers in his garage, looked pretty damned good as I recall. Been a few years since I saw that thread though…

Couldn’t you convert one of your stalls for paint? I mean you could take this diy path to its fullest extent! It has to be cheaper thank 35k. Even if you fly in a paint skilled ih8mud member and ply him with cigars, whisky and southern hospitality 🤷‍♂️

There's @kelly saad He does great work but he's in Arizona

That's a really good idea.

Looking for a mobile welder.

I bought two sets; one for the 94 and the other for the 40th. #saveonshipping You’re welcome wife.

Here’s a question for you guys.
Is it worthwhile to invest in the 105 series steering components? We’re talking approx $2500 doll hairs in parts. My steering is fine and I’ve had zero issues. I’m planning on 37s but do I need it? This is an opportune time to do it; I’m of the buy once, cry once variety.

Also, here’s a shot below the recently sold two-tone’s cowl.

I garaged it for my entire ownership but damn. Poor girl must’ve been outside for a while before I got her.
I bought a pre built 105 gearbox from Redhead a few months ago for like $1,000-$1,300 if I’m remembering correctly. Like a $3-400 core charge

The price you have in mind is probably for a brand new gearbox which most people would agree is overkill.

That's a really good idea.
Fly-in an excellent idea. Saves you the cost of the gear as well. (Have you priced the guns these guys use?)

Yep. He’s the one I e been talking to for the past two years. I really want to avoid the logistics hassle. He may be my only choice depending on what I find semi-locally. I appreciate the input.

Be well, everyone, and Merry Christmas.

Morning festivities are over, and I was bored. Got to work.
Today's word of the day is "Precarious". Everything below felt very precarious.

I threw the wife under the cruiser for her to guide the end out while I violently thrusted backwards.

Victory was ours this Christmas Day in the year of our lord, two-thousand, and twenty-two.

Now wtf do I do? 🤣🤣

Thanks to @slow95z for helping me out with some knowledge and a passenger door (great meeting you and your family). Many thanks to @BILT4ME for taking my texts and phone calls along the way. He took questions from one end of the spectrum to the other:

“Hey brother, I know it’s Sunday at 0215, but why is my compressor pissing out water?”
“Hey brother, ummm does this hoist setup look ****ed up to you?”

Now we begin to separate engine and trans. But I’m already drinking scotch and smoking a cigar so maybe we will chill.

Damn!! Big ol' D 😳

@BILT4ME is awesome. Had the pleasure of meeting him when I was in Kansas and I also had to ask him a million questions multiple times over a phone conversation.

Merry Christmas guys!

Nice work!
I enjoy watching both of you do your thing on your trucks!

Nice! Merry Christmas! Curious as to tire size and lift if any, whether tires aired down etc...

Merry Christmas Jaymar. The lift is a 75mm Slinky Heavy Duty setup and ended up netting about 4.25-4.5” (no armor yet). I swapped my stock sized tires from my 40th to get it low as possible and aired them bald bitches down enough for the engine hoist legs to clear upon removal.

I had an 08 f250 and I had a shop doing hea gaskets on it. They swapped out my 38s for some spare tire looking rollers. Poor truck lol

Got some wrenching in today.
I had a hard time separating the trans from the engine until I asked @BILT4ME how to unfornicate myself. I karate kicked the s*** out of the engine mount and it worked.

Above: This here is the #6 injector. The goo is my Toyota Red that exploded everywhere.

Below: engine harness needs to be cleaned up, inspected, rewrapped and put away.

Make sure you collect and document those spacer bushings that align the upper and lower sections of the intake. There have been bad things happen when those get lost and knocked out of place during assembly. They end up stuck in the intake valves. Very bad things. Same thing on the head alignment pins.

Are those pins loose--they can come out when the head is lifted off?
