My 94 is missing the support bracket between the upper and lower exhaust manifold. I think the p/n 17118-66010 which is unobtanium.

Any thoughts on the importance of trying to find or fabricate a replacement bracket? Thank you.

Not necessary most trucks that have been worked on it’s missing. Also it’s a discontinued Toyota part so you would have to source used. I

My 94 is also "missing" the manifold stay and I was going to replace it, but the only part I see is 17118-66010 which is specified for 95-98. If I shop using my VIN as a filter the part disappears as an option.

Based on this I always assumed the 94 never had it in the first place.

The first and second generation 80s didn't have it; the third generations all do, unless it's been lost. Given the amount of weight on the intakes and the very thin cross section at the mounting face, I think it's a valuable part. The early blocks and intakes are all tapped for them, so why not use it? It's very cheap insurance.

I recall not being able to source the bracket p/n 17118-66010 for my 94. Have the bolts and the mounting holes are there just recall the bracket being nla.

Happy New Year all.

I went through the same process. I had a couple of '96 80 series previously, so I was surprised when my '94 didn't have that brace. I assumed someone forgot to reinstall it until I did some reading here. It is easy enough to add if you really want it, but I consoled myself with the fact that it has been fine for over 300k miles without it...

I have several if you need one. I am also in the boat it’s not a life or death part, but Toyota did a lot of R&D so I’m sure they had a good reason.

I’ve never seen a 93 or 94 with the brace although they have the pre drilled holes for install. We bought a 94 new and it didn’t have the brace from the factory. My 93 is now 32 years old and no brace present since new.
