If this has been discussed, please point me to it.

I'm told that my 9.5ti winch won't fit in my sahara bumper. True? Is there NO way to do it? I may be changing its color, so I might be willing to get the hole enlarged if it can save me from buying a new winch.

Is it the bumper's fault, or the vehicles?

Ihave the 9500 XP in my sahara bar

I think you need one with the seperate selnoid pack, the intergal pack won't fit(I think)

I think its the integrated solenoid thats the problem. My wife will think I'm crazy to have winches on 2 vehicles!

Ditto.

9500Xp in Sahara bar, I think you can see the problem with using the intergal pack

Ahhh, yes.

My local shop says he can cut the hole to make it fit, but I didn't know there were two "struts" that would academically decrease the strength I imagine. But if thats the only obstacle to get the 9.5 in.......

Also, if I take the 9.5 off my Rubicon - it just won't look right!

And another thing: I'm a bit gun shy of putting too much weight on the AHC. Adding the bumper didn't cause any problems, but another 100lbs for the winch? Is this a real fear?

I was thinking of going to synthetic line to minimize weight, but I'm guessing that it is only a difference of 10 lbs or so, huh?

Then add the weight of another battery, and a shower and pump, and a compressor and a snorkle and a rod holder and etc etc, you have to be allowed to get it up to GVM!

Yeah, I know. I thought I had read something about needing to adjust the torsion bars if too much weight is up front.

I have seen a lot of people take out the AHC, so I just assume there must be some limitations.

By the way, the 9.5 can't go on the Cruiser due to interference with the grille. Guess that solves the issue.

FWIW: I really like my 9.5XP. I used it the Saturday before last and it performed better than I had actually expected it to (plenty of reserve power for my heavy rig!)...and I mounted the solenoid pack remote and high in the engine bay...I personally think this is a better set-up than the ti solenoid being lower and generally more exposed to dirt, mud, water etc.
