Well, unless something unforeseen pops up I am purchasing a 3.0L 88 4runner with a suspected BHG. It's rather ironic that since I've been looking for something more economical for a DD that has a blown motor on the cheap that the 80 would pitch a fit. She finally decided to let the HG go the same week I was having Mike take a look at the runner. I'm not sure if it's in protest or to get some practice for the POS V6 head gasket swap.

Mike checked it out yesterday and said it looks pretty good for being 20 yrs old. The way the owner described the over heating and all the parts they threw at it that it might be a fan clutch, heck it got 183k on the clock. I didn't buy it planning on it being a fan clutch but with that many miles on the original and the fact that my 80 clutch was junk with nearly the same number if miles who knows. All I do know is that I'll be getting dirty for the next several weekends.

As a related side note regarding projects, :princess: is still after me to get my bike back together before the weather stays warm for the summer. At least the welder is in the garage and the wiring just needs to be terminated at the panel.

Oh yeah, the 80 HG swap has sped up the completion of the garage. It should be done by Thursday night just in time for the 80 rip & tear weekend.

Mr. Costello,
Didn't you mention you were heading the KC this weekend? :hhmm: How difficult would it be to twist your arm to go a little further north? I'll give you a ring when I get home from work.

Yeah I'm tired, I through rambling. Time for bed.

Y'all have a good week!

I'll be headin' to Osage City early Saturday to drop off some beadlocks. Brian's headin' to Osage City from KC that same day to drop off a vehicle and get the wheels. That fella in KC decide he wants the tires but don't wanna drive to get 'em ???

I promised my uncle I'd give 'im a hand puttin' a lift on his Rubicon this weekend .... hence the headin' north early. Not sure I'll be much help since I pulled something in my back last night trying to mount up some tire . Gimme a hollar, I'm sure we can work it out.

I will be in Osage city with a trailer. I am hauling the cruiser there, then empty up to Oskaloosa, KS to pick up a 1975 Ford F150 ranger. My next project....

If I can help, let me know.

Brian

Kris,

Is this the one that was for sale in Newton?

Thanks for the offer. The tire sold locally to Mike G for his 80.

No, although I was extremely close to purchasing that one. I can thank the west side Tires Plus for taking three hours to change the tires on my 80 for that loss:mad:. It's a long story and I wish that one would have worked out.

The runner I found is up just north of Omaha. From what Mike said from his inspection what that it's in good physical shape for being 20 years old. After a little work it should be a decent to DD for a year or so before it becomes a toy. We'll see.
