I'm taking apart the interior and the only 2 things left are the rubber boot covering the 4H/L and the heater between the seats.

I can't figure out how to pull off the rubber boot covering the 4H/L selector. I don't want to pull too hard, as I don't want to cause damage. I can't find any info in my FSM of how this comes apart either. Can someone advice?

I also can't find (in the FSM) how to take apart the heater between the seats. I've removed the 3 bolts holding it down, but it's connected to the floor somehow.

Can anyone point me where in the FSM these are located (or instructions, or pics).

Thanks.

Robert

the rubber boot connects from under the body the top has 4 bolts holding a metal seal down to the body.
the heater hoses themselves could be hooked up check and see they will have fluid in them.

the boot is held down by a metal trim ring that is bolted down. Pull the carpet back around the boot and you'll see the bolt heads. Pull those, jimmy the ring and bolt through the hole in the carpet and it should be free.

Thanks everyone. I'll give these a try. Wonder why they're not in the FSM (or at least not found after a reasonable search).

Thanks.

Robert

you have to pull the carpet back a little to get to the screw or bolts that hold the trim ring or whatever its called that presses down on the rubber boot. These are sometimes a real pain in the but to get back in right.
