Hopefully going out to grab a rear heater out of this FJ62
Parting Out 1988 Toyota FJ62

Has anyone pulled parts off this truck? He's been advertising on CL for close to a year I think. Any reason I shouldn't go out there?

Also if anyone wants me to pull things, I can try and get it for you. Could just get small things that wont take long since the family will be in tow...

I have dibs on:
air intake hoses
rear heater
front grab handles (I think these can be mounted in the rear, no?)
front passenger seat (depending on condition)
Dash surround (depending on condition)

Yeah, I think I emailed them about taking the whole truck and they wanted something like 2 grand! If the heater control valve on the firewall looks good, I'd prob be interested. When are you planning to go out there?

Planning to go Sunday. It's in Lovettsville, VA 20180.
I wouldn't know how to assess whether the heater control valve is good. I can tell if it's not mangled, but that's about it. But that would be easy to pull.

DS female seat belt is an easy one too. (Bart, I think I have one in brown if you want - you can have it. I'll have to check if it's DS or PS)

How would you guys want to handle negotiating the price with the seller? I'm surprised he wanted $2K for the truck - he only wants $20 for the rear heater so it's not like he's pricing things unreasonably.

i've talked to them a couple times. I thought they wanted too much for their parts, especially since they were all still on the truck and not already pulled. Snag the bottle jack and any toolkits for your collection if its still there. they come in damn handy. I've been hoarding toyota bottle jacks as they're compact and convenient.

See of he will take $10 or 15 if they say 10 is too little... If its not mangled and doesn't stick, I'd be really greatful if you can pull it.

Bart, I have your seatbelt.
Wasn't able to get the heater valve - sorry. I just didnt have time. It appeared to be fine if you want to go get it.

Plenty of good parts left and the seller was good and helpful (Bart you owe him a beer for the sweat we shed over that damn seatbelt. Gave us a helluva time.)

Sorry, I didn't mean to come across as offensive. I've emailed a few people about parts trucks on CL and its been a while since I contacted you about yours. That's just what I thought I remembered.

I checked my inbox and I was wrong, you offered it up for $800.
