I went to the store, and when I turned the headlights on, they didn't work.

Couldn't fing the fuse, Maybe I overlooked it. I saw tail light fuse, but not headlights. Tailights still work. So I just hot wired the headlights and drove it home. Once hotwired the highbeams did work.

So anyone know where the relay is? Or have this problem?

GOing out to look at it now. I will post the results if I fix it.

Found the fuses, and relay. My sticker is gone!

Fuses are good
I tried another relay out out my other truck. no help.
Jumper the relay, and it all comes on.

It must be the switch, or the wire to the switch. Diagram shows 2 switches. on for the onof. the other for the hightbeams.

GOt the wheel off and column apart. need to find the on/off switch

What a mess. OK the on/off is on the stick. With an ohm meter it seems to be working. So I am stumped again, and my truck is getting into more, and more pieces

i too am having problems, related to head lites.
i got a melted wire, the main one. thats short to ground. one lite works, the other is dim. its shorted to ground.
i NEEEEEED a wire diagram.
so far all i have been able to download is a diag for a 86. Mine is a 89.
im stummped right now, im figuring it out.
have you been able to locate a diagram?
where the hell in this vast internet could i find one?

I take it you have looked at Rogers site?

Looks the same on my 87. The power comes from 80a main fuse to the relay. from the relay to the switch on the column, then to ground. The other side of the relay gets power from the 80a. then thru the 2 10a fuses, thru the headlights, back to the HI/LO beam switch in the column, then to ground.

I still can''t figure mine out, but I havn't looked at it in a while

Fixed!

I finaly got around to fixing my headlights. The red wire with a white stripe coroded and split. Only thing I can figure is when I did my engine swap I was tracing wires by putting the point of the test light into the isulation. I guess that let moisture in and took its toll. The bad spot was in the wire above the tire. I also don't run the inner fenders anymore.

I just spliced in a new wire. I did solder it. Who knows how much longer my truck will last. I didn't want to go to complicated with the fix.
